Meet William Xiao

William joined Cape in August 2023 an a Fixed Income Intern which means he gathers, analyses and interprets data to ensure our clients receive detailed and accurate reporting.

Prior to Cape he attended the University of St. Gallen to gain a Bachelor in Economics, with a focus on finance, during which time he led a student organization called SGFER (St. Gallen Financial Economics Review) which delivered investment writing and financial publishing on the topics of macroeconomics and financial markets.

Outside of work William has a diverse set of hobbies including cooking archaic and old recipes. He also plays poker, as well as League of Legends; a competitive video game in which he reached Diamond level (a feat that less than 0.01% of players can lay claim to!)

William’s incredible analytical mindset (which was proven in his reaching the round of 32 of the 2023 Excel World Championship) combined with his fluency in German, English and Chinese (Mandarin), and his charming personality make him a ‘Diamond’ in the Cape team too!
