Meet William Raynar

William joined Cape Capital on 1st July, 2024, as a Thematic Research Advisor. He provides context for Investment Committee decisions, identifies and presents potential investment themes to the firm, and creates relevant content relating to thematics which interest our clients.

With 35 years of diverse experience in the financial sector, William has worked at the confluence of clients and investments. His career began with a strong focus on asset and liability management, specialising in interest rates and credit. Previously he served as Deputy CEO of a Swiss private bank and was actively involved in several activist campaigns. For the past five years, he has dedicated his efforts to supporting sustainable startups.

Curious to the point of being easily carried away, William finds nearly every subject interesting. He enjoys public speaking, loves to write, and is known and often appreciated for his lateral viewpoints.

Outside of work, William enjoys golf, cross-country skiing, and lake paddling which he does while listening to podcasts. He is also passionate about wake foiling, skiing, and visiting museums and exhibits. William shares these activities with his family – his wife Alix and their three children, Edward, Celeste, and James.
